Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre as a great charitable organization, selfless benevolent Christian ministry, as a focused humanitarian body and as Christ-centered institution is fully called, commissioned and ordained to care, sponsor and to totally face the comprehensive welfare of the abandoned children, orphans, motherless babies, fatherless children with poor and disabled mothers and all children with sad and unfortunate life stories, which Good the owner of the whole has been helping Cowom to achieve, to actualize, to score and to succeed in all areas.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre, irrespective of its great office at Ugwunagbo L.G.A. of Abia State of Nigeria, also established an orphanage her at No. 27 Ibina Street Aba, Abia State Nigeria for the feeding, caring, housing and for the total protection of the Orphans, abandoned children, Motherless babies and other children with sad stories.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre has a branch for the feeding, caring, protection and for the betterment of orphans, abandoned children, motherless babies and children with unfortunate life conditions.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre established a branch of its orphanage hence at 12 Editung Street Eket, Akwa Ibom State for the caring, feeding, protection, guiding, guarding, housing and for betterment of the orphans, abandoned children, motherless babies, fatherless children and other children with sad stories.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre has visited many churches in the cities and in the rural villages to sponsor the primary education of the orphans in such areas living with relations or serving other people, who never find it easy to sponsor the education of such poor orphans.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre (Cowom) has visited some Nursery, Primary and secondary schools in rural areas to pay school fees of the children of the poor widows and the orphans in such areas as well.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre (Cowom) has visited many rural areas in Aba and Imo State with medical experts to treat the sick and poor widows, the disabled children, the orphans, the fatherless, the helpless children and other children with one affliction or the other.

Cowom is very mindful about life and the health of the orphans, the abandoned children, the deformed children and the motherless children in its orphanage home to the extent of treating them on steady bases whenever any symptom of sickness is observed among the children.

The education and success of the children, orphans abandoned children, fatherless children, motherless children and the disabled children is the burden and great vision of COWOM towards the children in its orphanage home to the extent that all of them are schooling, while some are in the nursery, others in primary while the elderly ones are in secondary school under the sponsorship of the Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre.

Cowom has mapped out a program known as the children’s week under which all children with different cases are visited with cash, foods, clothes and other items that shall make them happy. This is a 7 days (a week) steady program of children visitation.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre is a non-government organization that cares, feeds, clothes, helps, keeps and sponsors the orphans, motherless children, widows, abandoned children and the less-privileged in the society. It is a Christian and social organization aiming at fulfilling the caring ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ here on earth, which has trained, educated, cared and helped many orphans, abandoned children and motherless children who are today fathers, mothers, teachers, craft men and women, independent business men and women as the Lord has done that.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre is the home of destitute, regarding those that were disregarded and comforting those that were disregarded and comforting those that were discomforted, giving hope to the hopeless and home to the homeless with known and visible evidences that many of those disregarded persons that were cared by Cowom are today church leaders and business owners in different cities in Abia and in Rivers State.

The president and the founder of the ministry is a gospel minister, ordained and commissioned to preach and to reach out to the unsaved. She is also the wife of a notable gospel minister, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Ononuju, the president and founder of EL Theological College Nigeria and also the founder of International Institute of missions, the only Bible College that trains gospel ministers and missionaries free of charge. Many gospel ministers trained by International Institute of Missions, free of charge are today church leaders and Bishops of churches.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre is existing through God’s leadership and supervision. It is non-governmental organization that is based on God’s providence and supplies. Cowom has achieved why God called it to exist in our generation because many of the orphans, motherless children and other children cared and trained by Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre (Cowom) in years past are today director of businesses, fathers and mothers of children, husbands and wives, pastors, independent business men and women and successful craft and technicians that are presently controlling huge amount of money, registered businesses and other reputable outreach organizations. This is the reason we need helps in order to make these children become whom God called them to become in life.

The practical effort and fruits of the total ministries of Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre (Cowom) are observed in many trained orphans and many trained abandoned children who are surviving and grown to become the masters of their homes, some of them are involved in personal businesses of their own in Aba, Obehie and in Osisioma, in Aba Abia while others are residing in Obigbo, Eleme and Umuebele Rivers State, many of whom are electricians, mechanics, tricycle riders, cyclists and other notable businesses. This is another area that the ministries of Cowom manifest publicly, Praise God.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre established a Bible program among the orphans, abandoned children, motherless children and for the deformed children through which a full week Bible teachings shall be conducted with salvation, repentance and God’s forgiveness as the main emphasis and this program had yielded much fruits that those children that passed through this, fifteen, twelve or ten years ago are today pastors, evangelists and church workers in different churches today.

To actualize its commitments on the good health and sound life of the children in Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre, every month end is a compulsory medical check-up of the children in the orphanage home by a doctor and in a hospital to know their health status inorder to give them or any of them with poor health report the desired and adequate medical treatment in order to present healthy children to God and to men hence this is what Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre stands before men and before God.

A large area of land has been purchased fully for the businesses of Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre which shall contain five big buildings, two of which shall be upstairs, while three shall be down stair buildings. Listed below are the outstanding aims and objectives of the ministry which majority of them have been achieved and actualized, while some are still on our focus which include:- To house, clothe, feed, care, train and help the orphans, the motherless children and abandoned children in our society as our main business of existence and operation.

We care, help, feed, support and cloth the widows with necessary items for their survival and extend our love and supports on paying the school fees of their fatherless children. This is our steady practice and always involved to support and help for the training of the poor widow’s children in the schools and those in special skill development or in craft training.

To help the poor, the sick and the less privileged with foods and cash for their survival have been our major responsibilities for many years with greater focus on the betterment of the less privileged children and to carry the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the unchurched areas and to where sinners are found.

We have succeeded and still involved daily to make the widows, orphans, abandoned children, the poor and the motherless babies more reasonable by building them with the true word of God and prayers and by proper training of their minds which has yielded much fruits among the children and our steady and unceasing preaching in the churches, markets, streets and by campaigning for general assistance of the good spirited individuals in the society and by sharing our handbills through which we make our ministry known to the society.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre has greatly built and equipped the children in that orphanage home to the extent of developing the hidden giants in them, which includes making the orphans, abandoned children, the motherless, the fatherless and other children with disabilities that they are the future hope of the nation and the future leaders of our lands, given them the examples of Moses, David, Joseph, Jephthah, Esther and other examples of the orphans, abandoned children and despised children in the Bible and how such despised children later become leaders, mentors and prophets and patrons in Israel. These ideas have greatly built and encourage the orphanage children and have occupied their hearts and also built their faith and faithfulness, therefore join us to help and to train these children because nobody knows the womb and the pregnancy that shall produce the king and the pregnancy that shall produce our leader.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre in her quest to build and to develop the orphans, abandoned children, motherless and fatherless children, children and all disabled children has mapped out progressive strategies to help these great, but unfortunate children of our time which includes keeping and housing the homeless children, keeping and feeding the neglected orphans, feeding the despised orphans educating the unworthy and despised orphans, educating the unworthy and despised orphans and other rejected children, Training the helpless children in schools and in other helpful skills, making the abandoned children to become needed children, developing the hidden potential, hidden giants and unknown skills in the neglected children, making the abandoned children wise children and making the homeless children wise children and making the homeless children the owner of houses, families and children, making the less expected children greatly educated children, creating great hope to disabled children, had reconciled many scattered families and restore peace to many families and homes. God has been helping COWOM to actualize these.

To establish regular chapel that would help to building the children and widows spiritually and to bring them to observable moral soundness with complete faith in Jesus who died for them.
Establishment of Christian hospital for free treatment of the poor, the orphans, the widows and their children and the medical center for all unfortunate children in our days.
To work with the laid down principles of the government and to join hands with women affairs commission to fight evil, child trafficking and corruption in our society and to become examples of good works and true love of Jesus Christ.

Compassionate Women Outreach ministry has held different activities since many years ago, among which are these shown below:-

Seminars for widows aiming at making them self dependent and helping them to have something tangible doing.
Workshop for widows and grownups among the children in helping them to learn all about cosmetics and other trades that shall help them survive in times like this.
Sharing foods, clothes and cash to widows for the payment of their children’s school fees, hence their husbands are no more who should have catered for their children.
Sponsoring the education of some fatherless and poor in the society, especially the fatherless and the children of single parents.
Visiting churches in AWA in Oguta L.G.A. and Eziama Ikeduru L.G.A. Both in Imo State with cash, clothes, foods and other materials for the widows, orphans and the poor in these areas which is mentioned and greatly echoed everywhere around these places.
Training of the abandoned children and orphans in the schools in order to make them useful, skillful, educated and be reasonable citizens.
Sharing clothes, shoes, rice, beans and other materials to orphans, poor widows and the less privileged in the society and do other necessary helps to sustain the widows and their fatherless children.
Raising fund from good Christians who donated freely to keep the orphanage home growing and to sustain the children who are in Cowom.
Creating awareness on the social evils and the reality and dangers of HIV/AIDS in our country and to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to wherever our vision goes.
Motivating the young widows and orphans to learn any better trade of their choice and to help them be more useful and reasonable in the society and to have businesses of their own in order to feed well.
Preaching and teaching that touched people’s lives and actions. That also made them to be saved and reasonable people of God.
Helping pastors with cash, suits and food for their survival and sponsoring them in Christian programmes as was commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Giving scholarships to students in Bible Colleges and other Christian institutions in order to make the world our own parish.
Visiting churches and Palaces in Ohabiam, Obuda and Umuagbai towns in Ngwa land and supported the orphans, widows and the poor with cash, foods and clothes in order to lift up of their faith and to motivate them to righteousness.

Cowom has established children yearly converge when the orphans, abandoned children and other children in pain gather to hear the gospel and to be prayed for and dismissed with gifts and blessings.

Cowom has established what is called the children’s feasting day, which is also called the children’s Prayers and fellowship day which comes every February of the year with different varieties to the children including teaching, eating and feasting.

Cowom has a Bible program for the children which is known as the children QUIZ which comes every June of the year when Bible quizzes reading quotations with questions and answers are made open to the children in order to test their Bible abilities, interests and knowledge.

There is a program in Cowom known as the “Children’s Wonder Day” when the orphans, rejected children, motherless babies, deformed children and all abandoned children are taught with the lives of Bible heroes who were rejected orphans and those that were nobody who later became heros. These are people like Joseph, Moses, Jephthah, Esther, David, Lot and many Bible heroes whose stories started with oppression, rejection, despisements or those orphans who later became great. The abandoned children, orphans and other children in Cowom are encouraged with the lives of these Bible heroes whose activities we study today.

One of the most important program of Cowom is the one known as “Jesus and children” which comes every December of the year when the children are exposed with the love of Jesus and how Jesus called the children to come to him and how Jesus took or carry the children and blessed them. This is an important exposure when the orphans, abandoned children, motherless and fatherless children and other disabled children are taught how greatly they are loved by Jesus and are also encouraged to love Jesus as well.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre has four important days namely good Friday when the children are taught how Jesus was crucified, Easter Sunday when the children are taught how Jesus was resurrected and conquered death, the Christmas day when children are also taught how Jesus was born to save sinners, finally the New Year when the children are taught on new life, repentance and change of life and become new persons with the new year.

Rev. Prof. Emma Ononuju sons and daughters of Destiny is a forum of spiritual children of Rev. The ministries of COWOM include total service to God and to the general of humanity. MISSIONS OF COWOM.

The mission of COWOM is for the total child which means bringing every child wholly according to whom God originally created him to become. It is meeting the spiritual needs, physical needs, social needs, material needs, psychological needs and the general or total needs of children irrespective of their states, tribes or nations of their original.

THE MANDATE OF COWOM.

Thus, the message of COWOM is “The sacrifice to make others live. It is a campaign to make innocent children to live and to survive.

THE VISION OF COWOM.

The vision of the compassionate women outreach ministry is to bring back the sick children, senseless children, motherless children, rejected children, the orphans and all children with negative life stories back to whom God wants them to become and to the seat and condition where God called them to occupy in order to assume what God originally destined them to achieve.

THE METHOD OF COWOM.

The method of the compassionate women outreach ministry is only but mercy services involving caring, feeding, housing and sustaining the widows, the poor, the less privileged ones and all children with sorrowful stories and negative experiences in life. It is nothing but benevolent services, caring, charitable works and total mercy services to humanities. It is a non-governmental organization and non-profit making organization that is called by God to do so.

It is the total rehabilitation of the despised children and total empowerment of the poor widows.

OUR BIBLE EMPHASIS.

Our Bible emphasis are what we emphasize and practice as Christian and godly organization. Below are what we always confess.

We believe and confess that the sixty six (66) books of the Bible is the WORD of God, written by the inspiration of God.
There are three persons in one God head, the father, the son and the Holy Ghost. The three persons are one God and not three Gods, it is three in unity “TRINITY”.
God created heavens and the earth with His word, through JESUS CHRIST His son.
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, born through the power of the Holy Ghost. It is called the immaculate conception of the Lord.
Jesus died on the cross to save sinners. He was crucified, nailed, died, buried and was resurrected after three days and was seen by all, who also ascended to heaven and sat at the right hand of the father.
We believe on the second coming of JESUS when the church shall be raptured to be with the Lord.
There is heaven for the righteous, while there is hell for sinners, demons and the rebels.
There are powers of darkness, demons and all followers of Satan, who are the arch enemies of God and the church.
The blood of Jesus makes atonements for our sins.
Salvation is to be saved from sin and all its consequences and sinners are called to be saved after their repentance, confession and faith in Christ.

EXTENDED PROGRMS OF COWOM

Here are the extended programs of Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre irrespective of its steady and devoted caring and catering for the orphans, the abandoned children, the motherless and fatherless children, deformed children and other children with sad and unworthy sorrowful stories. Below are other ministerial extensions of Cowom.

Visiting churches, schools and other Christian gathering to pray for children, give gifts to children, comfort the disabled and deformed children and to pray, preach and teach children of different ages.
To gather children from rural villages in special places, churches or the village civic centres to share clothes, beverages, foods and other schooling items for the children in such rural areas and to encourage them through the gospel representatives in those areas coupled with prayers and teachings.
Gathering widows, aged childless men and women, the childless aged unmarried women in the villages, the helpless and disabled aged men and women and share the word of God with them, pray for them and finally bless them with food items, beverages, cloths, clothes, other wearing materials, cash for their sustenance and other helpful materials for their upkeeping.
Organizing seminars for widows in different rural areas and at times in urban cities for the widows in urban cities, the seminar shall gear towards peculiar issues that can affect widows, pains and temptations attached to widowhood and how to overcome such attacks.
Children and widows fellowship, others known as peculiar fellowship organization by the Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre which is open for every child and also to every widow which features praises, teaching, preaching and prayers. It is a yearly program and organized in agreed place in any state in Nigeria.

LAWS AND MANAGEMENT.

All workers in Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre must be women who have experienced the new birth in the Lord.
All workers in Cowom must be volunteer workers and must all be female workers only, with full love for children and the poor.
Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre shall not delegate any staff to collect cash, items, kinds or to represent the organization without any authoritative document to protect the person and to assure his or her authenticity or genuineness.
If any person among the staff found sinning, stealing, cheating, duping, lying, fighting, gossiping or in any unchristian character, such person shall be dismissed from this holiness organization.
COWOM shall have the right to worship God, fellowship with brethren, pray, evangelize and to do other gospel businesses.
Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre shall have the right to appeal to individuals, group of people, market organizations, commercial institutions, private organizations and to government for special helps and for supports.

COMPASSIONATE GOSPEL OUTREACH MINISTRY.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre shall have outreach ministries, through which it can reach people with the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It shall preach the gospel in the urban cities, rural areas, in the schools and in the churches. The primary purpose of this department is to convert souls for Christ and to bring the converts to the true knowledge of salvation. Based on this, soul winning and evangelistic programmes shall be considered as the primary aim of this arm of he ministry. This is the converts making department of he Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre.

PRAYERS AND CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP DEPARTMENT:

Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry shall have a solid department of prayers and Christian fellowship. The fellowship in this department shall be weekly programme which shall involve praises, Bible study, songs and choruses that shall be led by a gospel minister or a mature Christian. The orphans, all abandoned children, the widows, the less privileged, the poor, the aged parents and people in connection with this ministry shall be members of the fellowship and worship.

This ministry in other hand shall have periodic prayers and may at times go with fasting. The prayers shall be every evening while the fasting shall be periodic. The primary purpose of the prayers and the Christian fellowship is to bring the orphans, motherless babies, the abandoned children, widows and all the less privileged ones that are connected with this ministry to the true knowledge of God and to bring them to Bible salvation in Christ Jesus.

RURAL MINISTRY DEPARTMENT

Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry shall have rural ministry department whose businesses shall include rural evangelism, visitation to the sick, the weak, the poor and the aged people in the villages and other rural areas. The primary purpose of this department is to reach and to help the poor, the orphans, the motherless babies and the abandoned children in the towns and rural areas. This department shall help and take care of the abandoned children, the orphans and the motherless babies, that are suffering and groaning in the villages including other rejected children that are wandering helplessly in the rural areas and in other towns. Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry shall comfort this class of helpless children and give them homes in the orphanage, give them senses of belonging and shall care and cater for them till they become very reasonable in the society and before God. Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry shall cater for abandoned and rejected children who were disowned by their families and their parents.

ORPHANAGE AND MOTHERLESS DEPARTMENT

Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry shall house, help, care and feed the orphans, the motherless babies and all abandoned children in her orphanage home and shall take care of their welfare and strive to make them be useful to themselves, to the society, to government and to God who created them. They shall live in the orphanage home until when their relations who brought them shall come and take them back with the official documents issued to them when they brought the children in Compassionate Women Orphanage for caring.

COMPASSIONATE WOMEN ORPHANAGE HOME

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre shall have an arm, a wing or a department known and called “ COMPASSIONATE WOMEN OUTREACH MINISTRY” which shall take care of all businesses relating to the orphans and motherless babies in the ministry called Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre.

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre is an independent ministry with different organs or arms as the Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry and Cowom.

WIDOWS WELFARE DEPARTMENT:

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre shall have widow’s welfare department. This department shall take care of the widows, visit them, feed them, cater for them and help them with cash, wrappers, foods and with other materials items in order to encourage them and to sustain them. Every widow is a member of this department, there is no discrimination and no tribalism in this very benevolent ministry to widows.

HOSPITALS AND PRISONS DEPARTMENT:

Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry shall have hospital and prison department which shall take charge of visiting, encouraging and praying for the prisoners, the sick and all that were admitted in one hospital or the other. This group is also charged to teach and to preach the gospel to the sick, those admitted in the hospitals, the prisoners and others in one affliction or the other.

MARKET VISITATION DEPARTMENT:

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre shall have a department called Market visitation department which shall be fully in charge of all market ministries. This department which shall be incharge of Market preaching, Market Evangelism, tract sharing, leaflet sharing and total advert of the ministry to the traders.
This department also shall share the ministry handbills, poster and banners to the traders and shall also appeal to the traders and all business men and women in the market to support and to help the orphanage home.

THE CHURCH MINISTRY DEPARTMENT:

The department of church ministry in the Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre is the department that visits churches with the children for prayers, for deliverance, for true worship and for Christian fellowship. In this group or arm of the ministry, different denomination and local churches have been visited. Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry shall also use this organ to appeal to churches, to individuals in the churches and to gospel ministers to help, support and to assist the orphanage home in order to feed, care and cater for the abandoned children, the orphans and the motherless babies in this orphanage home.

MINISTRIES OF COMPASSIONATE WOMEN ORPHANAGE CENTRE

Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre is an orphanage centre founded by Rev. Prof. & Mrs. Ononuju. This ministry has two fold businesses, one is on physical, while the other is on spiritual needs. Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre is an orphanage centre that cares for motherless children, Orphans and children picked up in the streets that were thrown into pits and gutters after delivery. It caters for helpless widows and offering them helps and supplying them foods, cloths and other related items for their survival every Monday of the week. It holds fellowship with widows and abandoned children in the orphanage home. This ministry embarks in hospital evangelism, market evangelism, prison and school evangelism. Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry is headed by Rev. Dr. Mrs. Alzuriel Ononuju, the wife of Rev. Prof. Emma Ononuju.

This ministry is depended on the offerings, gifts, supports, sponsorships and helps from good spirited individuals in the churches and elsewhere. The aim of this ministry is to make Mr. Nobody “Mr. Somebody” and create hope for hopeless and finally introduce the orphans, poor widows and all around the ministry to our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST. It fights to give sense of belonging and to make these children reasonable in the society and to make them be useful to God and to humanity. These children need to be trained in Nursery, Primary and at least in Secondary schools to know how to read and how to write and to be socially balanced.

This is very necessary to the children in this orphanage and believe the task and challenge before all of us especially the Nigerian Christians and of course the believers in Christ no matter their nation and tribe is to contribute to the moral, spiritual and educational upbringing of these children who may tomorrow become the national leaders, governors, senators, teachers, lawyers, judges, engineers and gospel preachers if we really cared. Who knew the Jephtha would be the military commander and the deliverer of Israel in times of their trouble, child of a harlot driven out of the village and rejected by his people without knowing the potentials in him? Rev. Mrs. Alzuriel Ononuju the leader of this ministry is open to all both to join to contribute to Compassionate Women Orphanage Centre in Nigeria.

Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry (Orphanage) is a ministry for all, accepting membership from every denomination, every tribe, every race and from all who want to be more useful in God’ s hand and all who want to contribute to the physical and spiritual survival of those whom God has not approved their death for now!

It has been approved and publicly known that cash spent in saving a soul is more than great amount spent in building a mansion for personal pleasure, while the amount spent in keeping a soul is a great treasure in heaven which is for eternity.

Support us, build with us, help us, sponsor us and work with us to achieve a meaningful programme of the Lord. Which area the underlisted areas can you be involved in this meaningful programme of God.

Every believer must serve, give and live but not every believer should be on full time service in God’ s business, some shall be givers and supporters of those in full time services in God’ s business.

We are all called to serve and to minister, hence the soul winning business is not an optional work to any born again Christian but a MUST to all of us. The work of soul winning can be done through personal involvement of the believers or through their substitutes which is money or other support.

Be our co-labourers, co-fishermen and partners in caring for the orphans, training the orphans and seeing all about the education of children without parents and children without traces of their origin and un-identification of their parents. Why not be touched? These are the abandoned children.

At times Christians like to do what they feel would be very easy for them to avoid stress and anxiety. Here we placed some options for the believers to make choices of the work they can easily do without stress. Listed below are some of the things we may desire that you help us do, nevertheless, you still have right to do what you feel even if such ones are not written here.
