THE HISTORY OF COMPASSIONATE WOMEN OUTREACH MINISTRY (COMPASSIONATE WOMAN ORPHANAGE HOME)
Compassionate women outreach ministry is a great assignment from the Lord. It was not manmade, neither was it a choice, but God’s specific assignment to Rev Dr. Alice Zuriel Ononuju and her husband. The lord directed Mrs. Alice Zuriel Ononuju to go into the ministry of caring for the downtrodden, the poor, the widows, the orphans, motherless babies, the abandoned children and people with great needs even when she had no money for that. When she asked the Lord “why and how? Seeing that I have no money, but the Lord said to her, “I will make it for you, because if give a vision, I will make the provision” said the LORD. This vision, burden and the revelation from the lord started in 1990, just seven years after her marriage without a child yet. God said to her that her children will come as a result of her caring to other helpless children. Based on this promise of God, she started giving money and other helps to orphanage homes, but God said to her, this is not what I called you for, you must have an orphanage home where children and helpless people shall be cared for. She then joined some orphanage homes and started working with them and brought her own money to support them, but God said to her, if you need your own children you must do the great work of compassion by establishing an orphanage home where the abandoned children, motherless children, the orphans and where the less privileged children shall be cared for.
After long battle with the lord, her husband said to her, “we can’t run away from the lords assignment if we want to live and survive, the lord has called us for compassionate business lets go on. It was the Lord that gave her the name “COMPASSIONATE WOMEN OUTREACH MINISTRY” from where she also got compassionate woman orphanage home. The miracles started when she made up her mind to obey the lords assignment and started in a smaller way that the Lord opened her womb and blessed her with a baby girl and after which she had other children after thirteen years of childlessness. Rev Dr Alice Zuriel Ononuju presently has four children Adiel Ononuju (undergraduate as at 2017), Uriel Ononuju (undergraduate as at 2018) Amiel Ononuju (undergraduate as at 2019) and Eliel Ononuju (a pupil as at 2017). These four children are the mixture of two boys and two girls. We now discover that when we obey God, that God in turn fulfill his promises to us. Compassionate women outreach ministry was privately established in 1996, but the compassionate women orphanage home was established in 2005. This orphanage home stands as the best, most spiritual and the most trust worthy orphanage in this part of the world, praise God.
Nevertheless, we must also emphasize that between 1980 and 1981, before the marriage of Dr Alice Zuriel Ononuju, that God called her on full time service as gospel minister to work for Him in the gospel field in the department of children ministry. In partial fulfillment of this divine call, Alice Zuriel picked up Sunday school teaching in the department of children evangelism.
God loves this, but never the real calling. She tried so much to please God by caring for children and for loving children ministries with visible contributions and helps to children of different conditions, still these were not the call, neither the full assignments from the lord. Her love, compassion and interest in children, especially the orphans and the deformed children contributed much in the establishment of the compassionate women outreach ministry (compassionate woman orphanage home). Irrespective of her love and compassion on children, it was too hard for her to accept the ministry of the orphanage because of money involved in establishing, funding and keeping the home, but God appeared to her and said “RELAX I AM IN CONTROL” It was this assurance of the lord that encouraged her to initially start the orphanage home. Today this orphanage home stands as the best and as the most godly orphanage in this part of the world. The motto of compassionate women outreach ministry is “Relax God is in control”. All members of the ministry recognize the fact that the works of the ministry is that of charity and as such all the members are volunteers who are desirous to help those in want and need. Besides it is open to every person, tribe, race or nationality, church or other Christian, charitable organizations or bodies that share the aims and objectives of COWOM. WHO ARE THE PEOPLE EMMA AND ALICE ZURIEL ONONUJU?
This question may pose doubt in the minds of those who may come across it. Yes! Not even a little doubt. Emma and Zuriel are husband and wife (couple). The two simple humble and sincere believers got married in 1983 at Port Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria. Emma the husband of Alice Zuriel was saved in November 1974, while his wife was saved in the late 1979 at Port-Harcourt also in the very local church where Emma was already a called man of God. Both of them have exhibited life, sincerity, spiritual gifts, zeal and public ministrations before coming together as a couple.
THEIR WORKING EXPERIENCES
Mrs. Alzuriel had worked in different companies at Port-Harcourt and at Aba Abia State and finally served as a management personnel, while her husband Emma has served in different companies and finally taught in government universities in the department of history before facing the full time work in God’s business. Though, both of them have served as pastors for almost forty (40) years as at the time of writing this profile. They have served in Bible Missionary church as both local church pastors and district superintendents before they resigned to establish El Theological college and other related ministries as you see them today.
MINISTRY BURDENS
The couple has great burden for the perish souls, the unsaved communities, orphans, abandoned babies in the street, the poor, the less privileged and the poor widows in the towns and villages, thus, they established different related ministries to meet and to care for such needs and to care for the people. Since the birth of these ministries and institutions God has been using them to care, to provide and to feed the people. God has always proved Himself faithful in the ministries of Emma and Zuriel Ononuju and they are always calling on love spirited hearts and individuals with burdens to support their ministries and to help them succeed in their divine assignments of nonprofit making ministries.
OTHER OUTREACH MINISTRIES
Rev Prof Emma Ononuju and his wife Rev Dr. Mrs. Alice Zuriel Ononuju are known as soul winners. Evangelists and conference speakers. They are often engaged in interdenominational revivals, crusades, conference ministrations and missionary activities. They have burdens for the perishing souls. Muslim communities Hindus communities, heathen communities, Christian communities, rural dwellers and all unchurched and poor rural dwellers and God has been granting them the opportunities and open doors to share the gospel with the communities. They have travelled wide across nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They have some non Christian countries to cover in the next four years if the lord tarries. Among them are African countries which include Chad Republic, Niger Republic, Senegal, Democratic Rep of Congo, Gambia, Central African Rep, Sudan and Mali. INTRODUCTION TO THEIR MINISTRIES
Rev Prof & Rev Alice Zuriel Ononuju have been ministers for about twenty eight years. The couple often see nothing but Jesus who was crucified. This little introduction is all about their ministries and what the lord can do and what God will continue doing. The couple started as local church pastors under BMC Nigeria Inc. they have pastured and built many children, their first pastorate was at BMC Diobu as assistant pastor and later to BMC Eneka, Rumomasi, Elelenwo all in Port-Harcourt, they later went to BMC 136 Cameroun Road Aba, BMC Asaokpuaja all in Aba, and later to BMC Amuzukwu Umuahia, 2nd time and finally to BMC Port-Harcourt Road church Aba, under the Bible missionary church, Nigeria Inc.
They served as both senior pastors and later to the office of the district superintendent of Umuahia section and also over as the district of BMC over rail Aba respectively and was a conference speaker and a notable Christian leader in Nigeria. He is the author of more than fifty eight (58) books. The vision, zeal and burden to go higher became so much in 1992 but materialized in 2000 when they fully abandoned both secular teachings in the university to establish El Emancipation Ministry, El Theological college, Redemption Campaigners, International Institute of Missions and compassionate Women Outreach Ministry (an orphanage home).
As you read on, you will discover the hand of God, passion of God and the love of God working and persuading them. The Ononuju’s believe that no one can fully and successfully work for God without enough love, zeal, vision and wisdom of God. It must be recalled also that God used them wonderfully to establish many churches under the BMC Nigeria, below are those churches they established without any aid from man. BMC Igwurunta, BMC Ebube, BMC Isiokpo, BMC Rainbow town, BMC Nchia Eleme, BMC Obigbo, BMC Worji housing estate, BMC Amapuife, BMC Umuocheala, BMC Awa Oguta and BMC Abayi which he restored when it collapsed. They are the crusade preachers to establish BMC Arondizuogu Aba. It was in the year 2000 that the lord spoke to them to go higher for greater works for the lord, since then, the lord has been using them to establish the following ministries (all to the glory of God).

Compassionate women outreach ministry is a non- governmental organization that cares, feeds, clothes, helps, keeps and sponsors the orphans, motherless children, abandoned children and the less-privileged in the society. It is a Christian and social organization aiming at fulfilling the caring ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ here on earth.
Compassionate women out reach ministry is the home of destitutes, regarding those that were disregarded and comforting those that were discomforted, giving hope to hopeless and homes to homeless.
The president and founder of Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry is a gospel minister, ordained and commissioned to preach and to reach the unsaved with the gospel of life. She is also the wife of a notable gospel minister, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Ononuju, the president and founder of EL Group of International Gospel Organizations Nigeria and U.S.A and also the founder of International Institute of Missions, the only Bible College that trains Gospel Ministers free of charge with the aim of reaching the unreached nations through Missionary Activities of the Christians.

We do not buy children and do not sell children in our orphanage homes, but abandoned children can be adopted by couples who meet Government requirements on child adoption.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Compassionate women outreach ministry has aims and objectives and seriously fights to accomplish all. Listed below are the outstanding aims and objectives of the ministry.
1. To house, clothe, feed, care, train and help the orphans, the motherless children, abandoned children in our society and other misfortuned children.
2. To care, help, feed, support and cloth the poor widows with necessary items for their survival, and for the up keep of their families.
3. To support and to help in training of the poor widows children in the schools. And in the skills of their interest.
4. To help the poor, the sick and the less privileged citizens with foods and cash for their survival and to do the Lord’s work of compassions.
5. To carry the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the unchurched areas and to where sinners are found. Mk 16:15-18, Mtt 28:19-20, Acts 1:8.
6. To make the orphans, thrown away and rejected children, the motherless babies and misfortuned children more reasonable and more sensible in our society.
7. To make the orphans, abandoned children, the poor and the motherless babies more reasonable by building them with the true word of God and prayers.
8. Preaching in the churches, markets, streets and by campaigning for general assistance of the good spirited individuals in the society and by sharing our handbills through which we make our ministry known to the world.
9. Building orphanage homes in the cities and villages in order to accommodate, protect, keep and to shelter the abandoned children, the orphans and other children that were picked up by our field officers which must be confirmed by the police.
10. Sending the orphans and all abandoned children in our compassionate homes to schools and to craft centers for proper skill acquisitions and for their total development.
11. To make the rejected and abandoned children available to the couples or parents who may wish to adopt them as their own children after meeting the stipulated government conditions and requirements on adoption of children. (We do not sell children and do not buy children but adoption can take place through official Government order.)
12. To work in close relationship with the government and with other official agents from the Local Government, State or from the Federal Government on the issues of orphanage home operation according to Government law.
13. To call for the steady assistance of the government and other organizations in supporting us with cash (finance) food items, clothes and other' necessary things that shall keep the helpless children alive and things that shall make their school training successful.
14. To work hard scripturally, spiritually and sympathetically to. make the children become whom God wants them to become and to achieve what God wants them to achieve and to meet the vision of God in creating them.
We do not buy children and do not sell children and do not contradict any government order in orphanage Ministry or, children center but remain very Godly, law abiding and Christ oriented organization always.

VISIONS
Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry has many plans, burden and visions to project if the Lord tarries longer than this time. These include the following visions and plans.
1. To build Schools where the orphans, abandoned children, helpless children, motherless children, widows children and the less privilege children will be trained and equipped free of charge. In order to make them reasonable, sensible and great

3. To establish regular chapel services that would help in building the helpless children spiritually and bringing them to observable moral soundness and true Christian experiences.
4. Establishment of Christian hospitals for free treatment of the poor, the orphans, the widows children and for the total health care of the abandoned children.
5. To work with the laid down principles of the government and to join hands with women affairs commission to fight evil fight, fight child trafficking and corruption in our society and to join hands with the police to fight evil and to restore sanity in the land.
6. To establish other orphanage homes in other states of Nigeria. And to make rejected children, Neglected children, abandoned children, orphans and children with sad stories to become important citizens tomorrow in our society.
PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES ALREADY HELD BY COWOM
Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry has different activities since many years ago, among which are these below which are among what it has accomplished.
1. It had held seminars for widows aiming at making them independent and busy women, and to create vision in them, this was successful.
2. There was workshops for widows and grown ups among the children in helping them to learn all about cosmetics and other trades and this was successful.
3. Sharing foods, clothes and cash to poor widows for the payment of their children's school fees and these where successful.
4. Steady sponsorship of the education of some fatherless and the poor ones in the society, many people are beneficiaries of these and testimonies are many.
5. Visiting churches in AWA Oguta L.G.A. and Eziama Ikeduru L.G.A., Both in Imo State with cash, clothes, foods and other materials for the widows, orphans and the poor in these areas.
6. Embarked in the training of the abandoned children and orphans in the-schools and helping them to become useful even many of them today are the living testimonies.
7. Sharing clothes, shoes, rice, beans and other materials. to orphans, poor widows and to the less privileged individuals, their phone numbers and addresses are available with us.
8. Raising fund from good Christians who donated freely to keep the home and different supports from some organizations are also successful.
9. We are also involved in creating awareness on the social evils and the reality and dangers of HIV/AIDS in our country through our gospel.
10. We have it as our duties in motivating the young widows and orphans to learn any better trade of their choice and to help them be more useful and reasonable. This is one major part of our missions and this is also successful and continuous practice.
11. Preaching and teaching that touched people's lives and actions, which also· made them to be saved and reasonable in our land. This steady ministry is also successful.
12. Helping pastors with cash, suits and food for their survival, and sponsoring them in Christian programmes. This type is real and also successful.
13. Giving scholarships to students in Bible Colleges and other Christian Institutions, this was done in combination and collaboration with Bishop Emmanuel EL foundation and it was successful.
14. Visiting Churches and Palaces in Ohabiam, Obuda and Umuagbai Towns in Ngwa land and sported the orphans, widows and the poor with cash, foods, and clothes. This was successful in Collaboration with Bishop Emmanuel El Foundation.
15. Helping some BMC Pastors widows with cash to start some businesses and to care for their homes, this was successfully done in Collaboration with Bishop Emmanuel El Foundation also.
16. Sharing clothes, cash, rice, wrappers and other helpful items with Christian widows from CPM, BMC, AGC, Deeper life and other gospel preaching Churches at 200 Port-Harcourt Rd Aba and this was done in Collaboration with the Bishop Emmanuel El Foundation Int.’
17. Sharing and giving wrappers to the Local widows of BMC AWA in Oguta L.G.A of Imo State also done with the assistance, of Bishop Emanuel El Foundation Int'.
18. Helping the Local church of BMC AWA Oguta with cash to purchase any money yielding project or for any mobility in order to keep the church going and growing, this is also done with the assistance of Bishop Emmanuel El Foundation Int'.

BUILDING FOR THE HOME.
Compassionate women out reach ministry Inc. will build a bigger home for the total accommodation of the orphans, and the less privileged for their Christian fellowship and other meetings that would be of great help to the people and the home at large. Mrs. Alice Zuriel Ononuju who are also the founders of the ministry. Other sources of income are through the free will donations from good spirited individuals in our society, market evangelism, visiting to churches, gifts from godly organizations, our family incomes and general donations from the lovers of God and his works.

Compassionate Women Outreach Ministry (COWOM) is children specialist, shouldering the problems of all unfortunate children and sharing the pains of all children with sad and painful stories in life.
Catering, housing, feeding, training, caring, helping, protecting, grooming, building and developing the orphans, the rejected children, abandoned babies, wandering children, houseless and helpless children, motherless babies, the fatherless, the abused and accused children without homes and all other babies and children with unfortunate and sad stories in life.
